The Federal Communications Commission today voted to extend the Federal Trade Commission's "do not call" list to cover all commercial marketers and said it will use the same Oct. 1 start date as the FTC.
The FCC said it would make its list applicable to in-state telemarketing calls as well as those made from out of state. The move came as a surprise, because the FCC had not indicated it would seek to cover in-state calls. The FTC has no authority over in-state marketing.
Companies will be hit with an $11,000 fine for each call that violates the FTC's provisions.
http://www.adage.com/news.cms?newsId=38170The Federal Trade Commission, which had predicted that 60 million phone numbers would be registered on its "do not call list" in the first year, has reported
10 million registered numbers in the list's first four days.

Photos of my latest trip are available
here. The first 6 are actually left on my disk from Beverly Hills.
7 is some snow, 8 and 9 are a long story. The rest are DC. 20-25 are some photos of the
folklife fair that was going on in the mall, quite interesting. There are alot of photos of the diamonds I'm gonna steal, including the
millenium diamond - 6th largest in the world, and the
Hope diamond that is my personal favorite, due to all the bad luck myths surrounding it.

Apparently Strom Thurmond, South Carolina's ex-senator, died a few hours ago. The end of a great man, one of the US's finest Senators of all time. Kinda a sad thing. I really respected him, even though I didn't agree with his party all the time.

Ok, so I buy this box of mini pizzas at the grcery. You know, the ones that are almost bite sized (if you have a big mouth). I look on the box and there are 8 pizzas in the box. If you open it up, they are wrapped in two sets of 4 and you are specifically told to cook them in sets of 4. Yet, looking at the nutritional guide, they have a serving size of 3 pizzas, and servings per container = "about 3". WTF? Who comes up with these serving sizes anyway.

I dont know how it was brought up, but I told spencer he couldn't write a message boards in under 10 lines of php code last night. So, today he wrote it in 7. Kinda cheated, but ok. Since no code written in 7 lines can be secure, I hacked it and disabled the board. So he fixed it - 8 lines. I then proceeded to hack it again. He fixed that hole too - 9 lines. Couldn't find any more good ways to hack it, so I gave up. So, I now claim that you can't create a message board in under 9 lines of php code.

I think next year I'm gonna try scuba diving. Tech has a scuba club that I've wanted to join in the past, but its like $2-300 for the basic equipment and then roughly that again to get certified. Now I can finally afford stuff like that. Might be fun. Something different at least.
