Oh and Jared keeps feeding his female praying mantis other male praying mantises. That gives new meaning to leaving after sex.
This is where I'm going if I can keep my lead on the programming team.
Fun:
Sitting in a restaurant at lunch and discussing with dan what every person in the restaurant is probably thinking and what their relationships are to the people that they are with.

At least its less odd than dan asking the waitress: "Are you over 18?"
Ok, so I was (and still am) feeling sick and went to bed way early. As a result, I woke up at 8am since the light in my window was enough of an alarm clock after a long night's sleep. Went and did housekeepint work (clean kitchen, dishes, laundry, brushing up on Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum, etc - the normal stuff). Around 11:30, roomie which had still not woken up to the best of my knowledge sent me an email:

come wake me up when you want lunch

My first thought: he has acquired a new skill of emailing people in his sleep.

Well, currently I'm slotted for VT's international ACM programming team. That may change, but at least for the moment I'm ownzoring the list. Prague here we come.

If you want to know why tag-board became popular and fast, read this:
A group is it's own worst enemy
Interesting. I know many of you computer types have heard of John "Captain Crunch" Draper, the phone phreaker accredited with discovering that the plastic whistles in captain crunch boxes made the right tone for affecting the telephone systems back in the days. Anyway, apparently Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple) knew draper at berkeley. He took Draper's "blue box" plans, plans for an electronic system to really fuck with the phone system, and improved them then started selling them around campus. A portion of the money he earned from selling these illegal hacking boxes funded the work that became apple computer. So, in the grand scheme of things, the supercomputer that VT is putting together all started with hacking Ma Bell. Sweet.

Recipe for beautiful grilled cheese:
Take your bread and butter it lightly on what will become the outside of the grilled cheese ... just like normal. (4 slices - you are making 2 sandwiches)

Now, get that finely shredded cheese that comes in 8oz bags at the grocery story. Get the one with colby and monterey jack in the same bag (white and yellow).

Empty half of one of those cheese bags into a mixing bowl.
Add a little less than 1/2 cup of mayonnaise.
Add a little less than half teaspoon of sea salt (dont use crappy regular salt).
Add about 1.5oz's of cream cheese (get one of those 3oz squares and cut inhalf).

Put the bowl with all these ingredients in the microwave on high for about 30 seconds (dont worry about mixing it yet - you just want to soften the ingredients, not cook them. When the microwave yells at you, mix up all the ingredients until its well mixed and looks smooth - ish.

Now smear large globs of this awesome smelling goop between your layers of bread and fry like a regular grilled cheese. The consistency of the goop is good enough that you wont make much of a mess, and it tastes really nice.
Awesome, I just figured out how to mount my card reader slots as scsi devices under linux!!! That means I can now use my digicam AND palm without winblows. You simply don't understand how great this is.

Up late dancing, up at 7am programming, then went hiking 5 miles directly after practice. I slept WELL. Hehe.

On another note, I may be adding GeoIP lookups to Tag-Board Enhanced. I'm still debating it as the cost is $85/month for database updates. If I do go for it, I think it'll be a nice improvement.
Just got back from a swing dance with Kristin. That was a blast besides the fact that I sweat way too damn much and it makes me self-conscious. Anyway, I'm exhausted and have to be up at 7am in the morning for ACM programming practice, so I'm off to sleep.

Beautiful! Blogger is now Pro'ified - and I didn't pay a dime.

Also, I have mixed feelings about this. Well written short blurb though.

Apparently I'm the #1 coder at VT this year. I shouldn't read too much into the contest results though.
